With holiday party season just around the corner, Us Weekly's fashion director Sasha Charnin Morrison is sharing her top 3 must-have pieces to add polish and sparkle to any winter ensemble.
"I cannot stress how important the peplum top is for the holiday season! Every celebrity -- all the Kardashians -- love peplums. It's a very classic silhouette that's been modernized," Morrison explains. To really turn heads at a holiday bash, Morrison suggests mixing a silver peplum top with gold brocade jeans. "This is also a great date night look when you don't want to be too formal -- too cocktail-y. Don't be afraid to mix metallics. They're basically a neutral -- it can totally be done!"
For an updated twist on the pashmina or blazer, Morrison suggests topping your party look with a black leather motorcycle jacket. "One of the greatest things this season is a motorcycle jacket. You don't have to be so rock 'n roll, you just have a little bit of a flair in something that's really chic. It's a great entrance maker!" Morrison says of the wardrobe staple, which plays of a key seasonal trend of mixing 'hard' pieces with those that have a 'softer' feel.
Looking to sparkle and turn heads at a cocktail party? Shop for a glitzy body-conscious dress. "Aside from the fact that it's tailored so beautifully, it fits every body and can go season to season," she says. "It never goes out of style."
